The 1961 version of the Huntsville Hawks were the winners of the Ontario Intermediate “A” lacrosse championship. They finished the regular season on top of the league winning 18 of their 24 regular season games and outscoring their opposition 277 goals to 177. Dave Lough and Terry Gray led the team in scoring during the regular season. The team was composed of a mix of local lacrosse veterans bolstered by several junior-aged up-and-comers.
In the semi-final playoffs Huntsville defeated the Fergus Thistles 4 games to 1 and then went on to defeat the Alliston Athletics 4 games to 2 in the finals. Bob Clarke and Dave Lough led the Hawks in scoring during the playoffs.
