Joanne Bennett was part of the first ever Women’s hockey team in the Town of Huntsville, the Huntsville Honeys. She continued to play for 40+ years until her retirement from the game.
As a Women’s hockey player, Joanne was a prolific goal scorer. Scoring 50 goals in 33 games in 1981-82 and 50 Goals in 28 Games in 1984-85.
Joanne was member of the Huntsville Honeys team that won the 1982 OWHA Provincial Senior D Championship.
She continued her dominating play throughout her Hockey career, winning multiple Muskoka-Parry Sound Women’s Hockey League Championships, playing in OWHA Provincial Championships and a winning many individual player awards.
