Mye Sedore came to Huntsville in the late 1950’s, after enjoying a playing career with the famous Sundridge Beavers. At that time Huntsville competed in the Provincial category of “B” Divisional play. Starting in 1958 with a Juvenile B Ontario Championship, Mye’s teams proceeded to win a total of 3 juvenile, 3 midget, 2 Bantam, and 2 Pee Wee Provincial titles for a total of 10 Ontario Championships. During this period, a further 7 teams made it to the Ontario finals! The cap to his great career, Mye’s teams won 3 Ontario Championships during the 1964-65 season. The success of Mye’s teams lead to the formation of a junior hockey team in the Town in 1965 which to this day is still in operation. Mye Sedore upon returning to Sundridge continued his activities in the sport of hockey and to this day is convenor for the East Parry Sound area of Ontario Minor Hockey Association. Mye was honoured 2 years ago by the OMHA for his work with youngsters in the game of hockey.
