
Between 1974 and 1978 Barry played with the Huntsville Hawks winning the provincial lacrosse championships at the pewee, bantam and midget levels.
In the 1977-1978 seasons Barry was called up to the Junior B Hawks on one game releases for his much added speed and scoring punch.
In 1980 Barry was recognized as most offensive player for his hometown Hawks while coming 2nd in the top ten scorer rankings in the Junior B East Division while in 1981 he achieved 3rd place in the rankings.
For the 1982 season Barry was a co-winner for the OLA Rookie of the Year playing for the Junioe A Oshawa Green Gaels and also recognized as the most sportsmanlike player for his team.
Barry played 3 years for the Senior A Brooklin Redman in 1987-1988-1989 winning 2 Mann Cups and was a member of the “Dynasty” years. This team went through the entire 1987, 1988 and 1989 season without incurring a single loss, a record 84 straight wins until finally losing a playoff game the Peterborough Lakers on August 26th 1989.
In 2006 this Redman team was inducted into the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame under the Team Category
