Brad was born in Huntsville and played his entire minor hockey here
He played on the Huntsville Bantam team that won the 1970-71 All Ontario OMHA title
The next hockey season 1971-72 Brad played for the Huntsville Merchants Jr C team. He then left Huntsville to play for the Aurora Tigers 1972-73 in the Provincial Jr. A League.
The first draft pick of the Major Jr. A Kingston Canadians (now Kingston Frontenacs) in 1973. Brad was recognized for his skating and offensive ability. He played 186 games for the Canadians and finished his career in Kingston with 114 goals and 243 points.
November 2, 1975, Brad set a record when he scored three goals in 28 seconds against the Windsor Spitfires.
In his 1975-76 season with the Canadians, he had 52 goals and 112 points and tied for the teams scoring lead.
In 1997, Brad was recognized by the Kingston franchise joining only six other Kingston Canadians on the Honor Roll to have his banner hung in the new Kingston arena.
After his junior career, Brad was drafted by the San Diego Mariners of the World Hockey Association and the Vancouver Canucks in the NHL.
Brad played six seasons in the World Hockey Association with San Diego Mariners and Indianapolis Racers.
“Pro Hockey gave me the privilege and honor of playing against Gordie Howe and his two sons as well as Bobby Hull and other hockey greats. “Says Brad. “Watching these hockey players on TV at home in Huntsville as a kid and then getting the opportunity to play with and against them was worth all the hard work to get there”
Brad also played in the American Hockey League, and in the East Coast League where he won the scoring championship with the Erie Blades scoring 52 goals and 68 assists 120 points
Growing up in Huntsville, Brad enjoyed playing many sports. At the age of 15 he was asked to play junior lacrosse for the Huntsville Hawks. He won the scoring championship for the league that year.
