Only Huntsville’s second National Hockey League player, Ethan Moreau began his hockey career in Huntsville playing for the Huntsville Blues. Ethan moved into the junior hockey ranks as a member of the Orillia Travelways Jr. B hockey team. After a career in major hockey with Niagara Falls, Ethan finished his junior career with the Sudbury Wolves as 14th overall drafted prospect of the Chicago Blackhawks. Ethan Moreau played 4 years with the Chicago Blackhawks beginning in 1996. In 1999 Ethan was traded to the Edmonton Oilers with whom he played until 2010. He served as team captain of the Oilers between 2007-2010. In 2009 Ethan Moreau was awarded the NHL’s King Clancy trophy for best exemplifying leadership qualities on and off the ice. In 2010 Ethan Moreau was claimed off waivers by the Columbus Blue Jackets and in 2011 Moreau signed a one year contract with the Los Angeles Kings. Ethan Moreau played 928 games, scoring 147 goals, 140 assists for 287 points and 1,110 PM. Ethan Moreau is currently a member of the scouting staff of the Montreal Canadiens for the Western Conference and makes his home in Torrance, California.
