I started to play lacrosse in Huntsville when I was 5 years old. I played minor as a Huntsville Gael and a Huntsville Hawk.
In 1969 at the age of 16, I played for both the Huntsville Midgets and the Junior A team. I was fortunate enough to be called upon to play for the Senior A team as well.
1970-1972, I played for the Junior team in Huntsville.
In 1973 I went to B.C. to play for the Surrey Salmonbellies Junior A team.
In 1974 I was back in B.C. To play for the Salmonbellies. During the season I was picked up to play with the Vancouver Senior A team, to help with their playoff run. I also played for Burnaby in their bid for the Minto cup that year. We were the runners up, 2nd.
1975 was an exciting lacrosse year for me. I was drafted into the National Lacrosse League and played for the Philadelphia Wings. Unfortunately, the league folded the following year.
After a long hiatus, I came back to the sport in the 1980’s and played for the Huntsville Senior B lacrosse.
In the 1990’s I played in the Masters lacrosse league for the “Huntsville Silver Hawks”. I was also fortunate enough to coach my son and his group during this time.
After I finished playing the game I came back to coach and co-coach a few minor teams. We even managed to bring home provincial gold, twice.
