Bob started to play hockey when he was five years old under the coaching of Mye Sedore. He played at the All Star level all through minor hockey, winning OMHA Championships at each level. He was named MVP in his last year of Midget and was drafted by St. Catherine’s Jr. Blackhawks.

He continued playing and growing in his sport until 1971 when he was drafted in the third round by Chicago Blackhawks and signed his pro contract. After playing in the Central League for two years Bob retired and returned home to Huntsville where he continued to play the game he loved with teams in Bracebridge, and Barrie. He then played with the Huntsville Goodtimers and the Huntsville Oldtimers, winning championships with both teams until he retired and hung up his skates in 2008.

At the age of fifteen Bob decided to give lacrosse a try and joined the Midget team where it became evident that he needed to improve his shooting. After a lot of hard work and practice Bob played Junior A in Huntsville and won MVP in 1971. He went on to play Junior A in St. Catherine’s and in 1974 he signed with the Philadelphia Wings. He was then traded to Maryland and decided to retire from pro lacrosse. Back in Huntsville Bob played SR Lacrosse and then moved on to Masters where he was a part of teams that won numerous provincial championships and the Canadian Championship in 1997. Health reasons have kept Bob off the floor for the last couple of years but he still follows the team and his teammates.
