Bob Wild

Bob Wild and his wife Phyllis spent 25 years competing in the sport of marathon canoe racing. Watching many older athletes compete in the sport of Duathlon, Bob began training for this rigorous competition. Since that time, Bob Wild has competed in the Subaru and Multisport Series, Provincial Championships, National Championships and World Championships (4) held in Georgia, Newfoundland, North Carolina and France. In 2009 Bob Wild began his Duathlon career entering 6 events including the World Championships in North Carolina placing 85th overall and 2nd in his category. In 2010 Wild entered eight events throughout Ontario and in 2011 he again entered eight events including the Provincial championships , winning the provincial championship in his age category. In 2012 Bob Wild competed in 12 Duathlons including the World Championships in Nancy, France, where he placed 3rd in the world in his age category of 80-84 years old. Bob Wild’s decision to take up such a rigorous sport as Duathlon at such an advanced age is a testament to the possibilities for all seniors who wish to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
