David Arnold competed as a member of the Canadian Gymnastics team from 1977 – 1983. He coached the Canadian Men’s Gymnastics Team from 1984 – 2001 at World Championships, Commonwealth Games and three Olympic Games. He has received the Canadian and Ontario University Coach of the Year Award twice, the Canadian Gymnastics Coach of the Year Award four times and was one of the first twelve men’s gymnastics coaches in the world to receive the FIG (International Gymnastics Federation) Coaching diploma. He was inducted into the Huntsville Sports Hall of Fame in 2013.
