In Portland they called him, The Big Fella, in British Columbia is was Mr. Everything, the Squamish Indian Nation named him as an honourary chief, giving him the name Cahaliaor Chief High Score. In Huntsville in the 40s he was simply known as that Bionda kid` Without any question Jack Bionda was the most dominant player to ever play the game of lacrosse. Already inducted into the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame and the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame, Jack was on 7 Mann Cup teams, 5 of them winners, was twice voted the Most Valuable Player and holds the record of having 9, 3 goal games. Jack also set life time scoring records in the Western Lacrosse Association. An excellent athlete, Jack also had the distinction of being the only National Hockey League player to come from Huntsville. Jack enjoyed several seasons with the Boston Bruins, playing in 2 Stanley Cup Finals. He also had a brief stint with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Jack also enjoyed a very successful career with the Portland Buckaroos. Returning to Huntsville, Jack continues to be a legend in the game of Lacrosse and is still called upon to make guest appearances.
