Pat Brothers was recognized for 60 years of athletic achievement. He began his career roaming the outfield for the famous Huntsville Red Sox baseball teams of the 1930s and after World War II, calling balls and strikes for a further 14 years. From 1940-92, Brothers was one of Huntsville’s finest curlers and in 1986 was honoured with a lifetime membership to the Huntsville Curling Club. Two sets of rocks bear his name. With Don Lough, Brothers spearheaded the fight to allow women into the club.
