Rocky Clarke is a name that’s long been synonymous with “hockey” in the town of Huntsville. Born in 1958 and growing up in Dwight, he began playing hockey at seven years old. His playing career spanned many years, with highlights on the Junior C team in Huntsville and a Junior B team in Orillia. Rocky’s storied coaching career began in minor hockey in Markham, before returning home in 1984 to coach the Huntsville Blair McCann’s in the Georgian Bay Junior C League. He coached the team for five seasons, winning the Junior C Championship in 1988/89. He was also honoured to coach the Junior C All Star Team during this time for four years in a row. After marrying Kimberley in 1987 and welcoming children, Schenley (1988), Krystina (1990), and Marshall (1997), he focused on his masonry business for years before returning to coaching intermittently from 2007-2014 with Marshall’s minor hockey team. In his final year of coaching the team, they won the OMHA Championship in 2013/14. Rocky’s final coaching role was with the Huntsville Junior C teHe is currently working hard to recover from a serious stroke (2022) and spending time with his family.
