The Jan Glenn Award is now presented to the Female Sports Personality of the Year in the community. At its inception the award did not differentiate between male or female athletes, it was presented to the Sports Personality of the Year. Following the introduction of the Mike Greaves Award the Hall of Fame redefined the Jan Glenn Award to be presented to female personalities only.
To be eligible for the Jan Glenn Memorial Award, the nominee must:
- be 18 years of age;
- live in the municipality of Huntsville;
- and/or made his or her contribution directly in the municipality of Huntsville;
- has made an ongoing contribution as a volunteer that has aided or benefited the Huntsville sports/recreation community in such a way that contributed to the well-being and enjoyment of others
